November AR Report
I am sending a letter home with your child tomorrow along with their November AR report. Please ask your child for this letter and go over the report with him/her, sign it, and have your child return it to me.
Holiday Traditions
We will be writing about our favorite holiday traditions/memories. Please have your child think of any favorite recipes along with a memory or story about them and have your child bring the recipes to school as soon as possible.
Christmas Poems
My class will also have the opportunity to choose a Christmas poem each week to recite to me as their fluency homework. If they choose to memorize it, they can earn AR points (the amount will vary depending on the length and difficulty of the poem). I appreciate your support in helping your child practice reading or memorizing it.

Native American Pow Wow
Our third grade Native American Pow Wow is scheduled for Tuesday, November 23. It will be an all-day event filled with lots of fun crafts and activities with a taster's table at the end of the day (from 2-3 p.m.). I will need volunteers all day long: 9:15-10:05, 10:10-11:00, 11:15-12:05, 12:55-1:45, and 2:00-3:00. As of today (11/11/10), I have most of my volunteers(4) signed up from 9:15-10:05, only 2 from 10:10-11:00, 1 from 11:15-12:05, 0 from 12:55-1:45, and 2 from 2:00-3:00. If you can volunteer during the times where there are very few or no people signed up, that would be wonderful! I can keep you up to date on where I need volunteers. I appreciate those who are willing to come help! I also have enough people to make play dough, so thank you for helping with that. And thanks to those who have donated paper towel and toilet paper rolls; keep them coming!
